Direct Behavioral Health Services: Treatment Services: Behavioral Health Aides

Our Behavioral Health Aides are skilled in providing direct services to our families either in the home or out in the community. Touchstone Behavioral Health prides itself on working together to achieve success, so with that, our Behavioral Health Aides work very closely with the Child and Family Team members. Our focus is to help the child and family with behavior coaching, living skills, parenting skills, in-home respite, and crisis intervention. We are very knowledgeable about resources in our community and can provide our families with the tools they need to become successful.

Touchstone / Charter School Prevention Project (TCSPP)

Touchstone Behavioral Health has always appreciated the importance of "the other public school choice" in Arizona. From the inaugural year of Charter Schools in 1995, Touchstone's administrators, therapists and program specialists have creatively and diligently worked to provide needed services at low cost or no cost to Maricopa County charter schools. The 2001 addition to this continuum of services is the Touchstone/Charter Prevention Project (T/CSPP).

Magellan Health Services awarded Touchstone funding to provide innovative and comprehensive prevention programming to many Maricopa County charter schools whose population of 'at risk' students are in the thousands AND to do so at low or no cost to the schools. The newly developed T/CSPP, which is modeled after science-based curriculum, provides training in risk and resource assessments, community resources, family partnering and strategies in collaborating with other charter schools to the schools involved in the Project.

Journeys Child Development Program

This is a Touchstone Behavioral Health Before- and After-School program for grades 1 through 6 and a Kindergarten Enrichment Program. What is the biggest concern of parents who work outside the home? It is the quality of care their children receive during times when there is no parent available to them. Our Journeys Child Development Program is available before and after school hours at the school and alleviates that concern. Parents of children enrolled in Journeys know their children are not just being 'baby-sat,' instead they are learning skills to better their lives, enhance personal relationships, and help them develop a strong sense of responsibility to family and community.

Touchstone Behavioral Health provides a safe, nurturing environment for these children after school hours: First, by focusing on staffing our Journeys Centers with the most qualified, compassionate, and 'child centered' personnel. Second, by the use of a detailed curriculum that focuses on multi-cultural sensitivity, self responsibility, and respect for self, others, and the environment. Third, by the blending of a structured environment and a stimulating program of self-expression for the children.

"No one has the right to interfere with the learning, rights, or safety of another"

This principle is the keystone on which all Touchstone Behavioral Health programs are based. Each child learns to respect others while becoming more confident in his or her own ability.

Call (623) 209-0260, extension 115 to learn more or enroll.
